New BUTTERCUP INK stationery and packaging!

I just received my new stationery and packaging supplies and I'm so excited to share! I love the continuity across all the items. It really represents the brand in the way I imagined.

Preparations are almost done for next weeks trade show. I'm really excited and can't wait to meet some of Buttercup Ink's 'virtual' friends in the flesh!

Are any of you attending? If so, be sure and pop by stand F33 at First Instyle and say hi! I will have some sweet delights for you!

Happy Friday!

Short hair I LOVE right now!

A few months ago I had my hair cut to the shortest it's EVER been.

It was much needed after the 6 months of peroxide blonde! I really love the pixie cut but with hair that grows VERY quickly and an appointment at the hairdressers next week, I'm in two minds... Do I keep the 'pixie' or grow it slightly for a longer crop? Would LOVE your suggestions!

Here are some of my fav cuts at the moment.

Affordable DESIGN for business is HERE!

I've been working this last few months on an exciting new venture for Buttercup Ink... and now it's time to share!

At the networking events I've been at and just chatting to other mums in business, I've found that whilst everyone starting out in business would love a beautiful brand that is consistent across their printed collateral, Facebook, blog, etc. they just don't have the cash to spend up front with an agency in the early days. So, I've decided to create Buttercup Ink : The Brand Shop. This will be a one stop shop for your logos and printed items to get you started in the most professional way and have your brand say exactly what you want it to!

This is how it works...

Example logos will be available to purchase from the shop. You then just let me know what colours you would like from the colour chart and your company name. I'll then work my magic and put it together just for you and send you a proof. When I get the thumbs up from you, I'll then forward your personalised logo suite with all the various formats for you to keep! EASY!

Each logo will only be sold 5 times and no two logos will have the same colour scheme so there is no chance of duplicates! We wouldn't want that!

There will also be packages available that will contain print-ready pdf's of your business card, letterhead, Facebook profile pic, etc. to ensure the symmetry across all areas of the business. But more on that later!

Here are a few of the sample logo's to whet your appetite! What do you think?

A STUNNING design studio

Bailey Doesn’t Bark is a contemporary home and life accessories company, offering handmade tableware, home accents, jewellery and paper goods, based in Brooklyn, NY.

The clean design is stunning and the photography flawless... My favourite collection is the gold dots.

There blog is full of studio videos too - check it out here.

I've just rediscovered my David Gray, White Ladder album. It's one of my favourites of all time. Perfect listening for a cold, Melbourne afternoon in the cozy studio. Sit back and chill out...

AMAZING yoga studio!

Have a look at this yoga studio in NYC! AMAZING!!!

Whilst I can't help but feel it's a little too polished for a yoga studio, there is no denying how beautiful the interior is!

Accessory LOVE

Nancybird is a Melbourne based accessory label that I just LOVE! A friend put me onto them a few years ago and it's become a bit of an expensive habit!

The leather is just beautiful. As is the hand printed fabrics. I've just noticed that they have added scarves to the new collection!

I sent my little sis', who lives back in Scotland, a bag for her 21st a few years ago and she gets so many compliments on it!

They also do international shipping so everyone can indulge!

YOGA : for people who are too busy to do yoga

Many of you will know that I love yoga and try to practice everyday. Some days it's 60 mins, others just 10 minutes but I always find time in my day for it. Recently, I've found a new class in my local area that is perfect for me at this time. I find it challenges me physically but also allows me to calm my mind which is so important for me.

I took part Mariannes 30 Days of Yoga course last year and it was a great way to help me establish a good home practice that I could adapt to suit each day. She has recently launched some new online courses including 30 Days if Yoga : For People Who Are Too Busy To Practice Yoga. I love the concept! I know of so many friends who would like to try yoga and develop a regular practice but are just 'too busy'. This is a great way to introduce yoga and help them realise that they don't have time not to practice yoga!

Marianne is a truly inspiring person - find out more about her journey here...

Helen and Ben - an Art Deco style reception

I've just recently completed this job for Helen and Ben. They are getting married back in the UK (check out the invitations here) and wanted to create the same excitement for their guests attending their Melbourne reception.

I love the architectural hand cut element and the colour scheme of coral and rust on cream give a really glamourous aesthetic! Who wouldn't want to attend this fabulous function!!!

Head on over the the website for more images...

New Buttercup Ink printed collateral

With a few big wedding projects complete this week, I'm turning all my attention to my trade show prep (which is less than 5 weeks away - WOW!).

I've been so busy lately that I've not had the chance to work on the new Buttercup Ink printed collateral. So here it is!

I'm sending out pre show material to my most loved shops. After some research, I decided against the mass mail out and chose to focus on the shops that I have hand picked and think will be a perfect home for Buttercup Ink products. Each of these lovely retailers are getting a little stationery gift to help them plan for the show.

Also, as my full collection is available to view online, I'm not doing a printed catalogue but instead directing potential retailers to the online shop and giving them an order form.

I've chosen to have a generic postcard printed that I can handwrite a little note on to hand out with my business card if required. Also, this will come in really handy for me to include in online orders and wedding stationery suites.

The focus of Buttercup Ink stationery is to encourage people to put pen to paper in this overly digital age (she says as she taps away on her Mac!) so I really love the idea of giving people something that is handwritten - from one person to another.
