YOGA : for people who are too busy to do yoga

Many of you will know that I love yoga and try to practice everyday. Some days it's 60 mins, others just 10 minutes but I always find time in my day for it. Recently, I've found a new class in my local area that is perfect for me at this time. I find it challenges me physically but also allows me to calm my mind which is so important for me.

I took part Mariannes 30 Days of Yoga course last year and it was a great way to help me establish a good home practice that I could adapt to suit each day. She has recently launched some new online courses including 30 Days if Yoga : For People Who Are Too Busy To Practice Yoga. I love the concept! I know of so many friends who would like to try yoga and develop a regular practice but are just 'too busy'. This is a great way to introduce yoga and help them realise that they don't have time not to practice yoga!

Marianne is a truly inspiring person - find out more about her journey here...

Helen and Ben - an Art Deco style reception

I've just recently completed this job for Helen and Ben. They are getting married back in the UK (check out the invitations here) and wanted to create the same excitement for their guests attending their Melbourne reception.

I love the architectural hand cut element and the colour scheme of coral and rust on cream give a really glamourous aesthetic! Who wouldn't want to attend this fabulous function!!!

Head on over the the website for more images...

New Buttercup Ink printed collateral

With a few big wedding projects complete this week, I'm turning all my attention to my trade show prep (which is less than 5 weeks away - WOW!).

I've been so busy lately that I've not had the chance to work on the new Buttercup Ink printed collateral. So here it is!

I'm sending out pre show material to my most loved shops. After some research, I decided against the mass mail out and chose to focus on the shops that I have hand picked and think will be a perfect home for Buttercup Ink products. Each of these lovely retailers are getting a little stationery gift to help them plan for the show.

Also, as my full collection is available to view online, I'm not doing a printed catalogue but instead directing potential retailers to the online shop and giving them an order form.

I've chosen to have a generic postcard printed that I can handwrite a little note on to hand out with my business card if required. Also, this will come in really handy for me to include in online orders and wedding stationery suites.

The focus of Buttercup Ink stationery is to encourage people to put pen to paper in this overly digital age (she says as she taps away on her Mac!) so I really love the idea of giving people something that is handwritten - from one person to another.

The Very Hungry Caterpillar - BIRTHDAY CAKE!

I've just finished Gabriel's birthday cake for his 2nd birthday tomorrow and I just love it! I couldn't wait to share! And I'm sure it won't look as complete as this for very long! All the little fruits are made from marzipan and the cupcakes have butter frosting. Needless to say, my hands will be stained with food colouring for some time to come!

Have a great weekend!

Branding project EMMA DE SMIT

I had the pleasure of recently working on a branding project for freelance writer and communications consultant, Emma. She really loves Scandinavian design and was inspired by the notecards in my shop.

The end design is clean, crisp and flexible - a point that was important to Emma as she works on various projects across many different industries. The final card was printed on 350gsm matt cello stock with a very subtle clear varnish on the leaf mark on the reverse.

Winter HOME inspiration

With lots of beautiful, crisp, cold days recently here in Melbourne, I'm feeling very homely and enjoying being at home with my boys doing lots of cooking and baking (trying my hardest to be of MasterChef standard!).

Here are some of my favourite wintery home inspirations courtesy of Pinterest...

Kids BIRTHDAY themes

With Gabe's 2nd birthday at the end of the month, I'm in planning mode for his cake... Last year I did some little Elmo and Cookie Monster cupcakes but not sure what to go for this year.

Whilst we're not having a party (opting for a family day out at the open range zoo instead) I still love to create something special at home for him.

Here is some of the inspiration I came across on Pinterest
